Verisk Analytics today announced the acquisition of Infield Systems, a leading independent provider of business intelligence, analysis, and research to the oil, gas, and associated marine industries.

Infield Systems will become part of Wood Mackenzie, a Verisk Analytics business.

“This small, tuck-in acquisition of Infield Systems will help transform our analysis of the upstream supply chain and complement our modeling capabilities. Our clients will benefit from a more robust and integrated offering made possible by combining the analytical strength and proprietary databases of Infield Systems and Wood Mackenzie,” said Stephen Halliday, chief executive officer of Wood Mackenzie.

“For more than 25 years, Infield Systems has provided an extensive range of services to assist its clients with critical business and investment decisions. Infield Systems, its people, its relationships across the industry, and its comprehensive data are widely recognized as a leading source of information, research, and analysis for the energy sector; and they will be a valuable addition to Wood Mackenzie and Verisk Analytics,” added Halliday.

“We’re delighted to be joining Wood Mackenzie. The integration of Wood Mackenzie and Infield Systems will provide a more competitive and complete service for both Infield Systems and Wood Mackenzie clients,” said Julian Whitfield, Infield Systems managing director.
