Wood Group expands automation services to Asia

Wood Group is continuing to expand its Automation and Control business, establishing automation capabilities at Wood Group Mustang’s Kuala Lumpur office to serve the Asia Pacific market.

With this entry into the Asia Pacific markets, Wood Group Mustang’s Automation and Control business will focus on projects in the energy (offshore and onshore production, petrochemical, chemical, and refining), power and manufacturing industries. Services will include specialty automation consulting, control and instrument modernizations, greenfield main automation contractor projects, and electrical upgrades.

Specialty automation consultancy services will include: functional safety, fire and gas system life cycle management, cyber security management, control and safety systems (reliability and availability), alarm management, fire and gas mapping studies, fire and gas coverage studies, and training.

“The expansion of our automation and control capability into the Kuala Lumpur office allows us to further enhance our regional delivery model by providing a strong technical execution base in Malaysia,” stated Mark House, president, Wood Group Mustang Automation and Control.  “With the ability to provide services ranging from functional safety consulting through to main automation contracting, we can now provide a broader offering to our clients.”

The Kuala Lumpur team is being led by Harry Bennett and Rahul Gupta, who recently joined the Wood Group Mustang team and bring a wealth of experience in automation and consulting services to their new positions.
