Transocean, has opted to delay delivery, and final payments, on two dynamically positioned ultra-deepwater (UDW) drillships currently under construction at Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard.
The proprietary Jurong Espadon 3T designed rigs are now scheduled to be delivered between Q1-Q3 2020.
Transocean currently owns or has partial ownership interests in, and operates, a fleet of 60 mobile offshore drilling units, which includes 28 UDW floaters.
These aren't the only newbuilds Transocean has opted to delay. Back in March, the rig firm said it would delay delivery on five newbuild jackups under construction at Keppel Offshore & Marine's shipyard, Keppel FELS, until 2020.
