Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) has appointed Harke Jan Meek as chief commercial officer as of 1 June 2016.
In the role, Meek will be member of the HMC board and be responsible for the commercial and technology departments.
Meek joined HMC in 2012 in a commercial and business development role for SURF projects and was appointed as Senior Vice President Commercial in October 2013. In that role, he advanced the department, grew a thorough understanding of the business and further developed relationships with clients.
Before joining HMC, he worked in Business Development functions for SBM Offshore and on LNG projects for Shell.
Previously, Leon A. Harland was the Executive Vice-President, Commercial & Technology at HMC. He left to become CEO of Malaysia's Bumi Armada, a role he was due to start on 16 May.
