DEA picks Transocean for Dvalin production wells

DEA Norge has awarded Transocean Norway a contrcat for use of the drilling rig Transocean Arctic for drilling production wells on the Dvalin field in the Norwegian Sea.

Dvalin is a four-well subsea tieback to the Heidrum platform. As part of the project, a new 4500-tonne module for processing and compression of gas will be installed on Heidrun by its operator, Statoil.

Drilling of the four production wells will start mid-2019 and the operation is planned to last 340 days. The contract value is US$68 million. The agreement includes options to use the rig for additional wells.

“Drilling the production wells will be an important step towards production start of the Dvalin field in autumn 2020," says Hans-Hermann Andreae, Managing Director of DEA Norge.

The Dvalin field is DEA's first operated development in Norway.
