Petrobras' November monthly output up 1.2%

In November, Petrobras announced its total oil and natural gas output in Brazil was 2,342,000 boe/d, up 1.2% from the 2,315,000 boe/d extracted a month earlier. Including the share operated by Petrobras for its partners, the rise in relation to October was 1.9%. Oil output exclusively from Petrobras' fields in Brazil averaged 1,957,000 bpd, remaining within the range of October's output of 1,960,000 bpd.

The new monthly and daily pre-salt output record of 339,100bpd and 362,300bpd, respectively, contributed to the stable oil output in November, in addition to the Nov. 11 start-up of platform P-63 in the Campos Basin Papa-Terra field.

New wells interconnected to the platforms P-26, in Marlim, and P-53, in Marlim Leste started up as part of the complementary development of these fields, ocated in the Campos Basin. The extended well test  of Lula Extremo Sul, in the Santos Basin pre-salt area, through the FPSO Cidade de São Vicente, also began in November.

Throughout the month, the company help scheduled maintenance stoppages in the Northeast Polo, FPSO Cidade de Anchieta and P-53 platforms.

Platform P-55 in Roncador field, in the Campos Basin, with daily processing capacity up to 180,000 barrels of oil and up to 4 million cu. m of natural gas, is in final preparations to begin production. Moreover, platform P-58 anchoring activities are currently underway in the Parque das Baleias (Whales Park), in Espírito Santo portion of the Campos Basin.

The platform P-62 left December 30 to its final location in the Campos Basin. The platform P-61 will leave the morning of December 31 for its location in the Campos Basin. The Tender Assisted Drilling is currently navigating towards Brazilian waters.

Natural gas output

In November, Petrobras' natural gas output in Brazil was 61,296,000cu. m/d, up 8.3% from October's output of 56,581,000cu. m/d. Including shares operated by Petrobras for its partners, volume reached 68,794,000cu. m, with an increase of 8.5% in relation over October.

The end of scheduled stoppages in the Merluza and Mexilhão platforms in the Santos Basin contributed to the natural gas output increase, in addition to the interconnection of the Operation Module of Pigs-1 (MOP-1), in Espírito Santo. MOP-1 is a platform designed to clean and inspect the internal pipelines.

Also in November, the E&P Operations Unit at Amazon reached the record in gas delivery, achieving the volume of 4,232,000 cubic meters per day. For the first time, this index reached levels higher than 4,000,000 cu. m/d, mainly driven by increased demand for gas in the thermoelectrics of the region.

Output abroad

In November, total oil and natural gas extraction abroad was 194,078 boe/d, down 2.8% from the output of 199,760 boe/d a month earlier. This decrease was due to the production shutdown on the US's Cascade and Chinook fields to install power umbilicals and subsea pumps as well as to the maintenance shutdown at the Sábalo plant in Bolivia's San Antonio field.

Of this total, natural gas output was 14,944,000cu. m/d, down 3.2% from October's output. In November, oil output exclusively from Petrobras' fields abroad was 106,122bpd, 2.5% lower than October.

Information to the ANP

The total output reported to Brazil's National Petroleum Agency (ANP) was 9,155,280.80cu. m of oil and 2,175,786,018cu. m of gas in November of 2013. This output corresponds to the total output of the concessions where Petrobras is the operator. It does not include volumes of shale-extracted oil, natural gas liquid and partners' output where Petrobras is not the operator.
