Accura, Advanced partnership improves flow meters

Published

Accura Group, based in Wolverhampton, and Peterborough-based Advanced Interactive Materials Science joined forces to manufacture Venturi Flow Meters, using the HIPing process for use with oil and gas production measurements.

Venturi Flow Meters now have improved accuracy and increased longevity due to using HIPed powder metallurgy, near-net shaping techniques and precision-machining by Accura, during manufacturing, to achieve internal engineering tolerances of two microns.

The equipment’s mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy are further engineered to meet stringent oil and gas subsea standards because replacing Venturi Flow Meters is a difficult and costly process. The new components include high-quality uniform material properties and highly engineered dimensional tolerances that reduce manufacturing risk and maintenance costs.

Alycidon Capital managing director, Mark Hodgkins, and Accura chief executive, David Williams, present a Venturi Flow Meter.
