Swedish exploration firm Lundin Petroleum's latest exploration well 6407/10-4 on the Lorry prospect in the Norwegian Sea has been classified as dry.
The well, in PL700B, on the northern part of the Frøya High in the southern Norwegian Sea has been plugged and abandoned, says Lundin.
The main target was to test the Upper Jurassic pinchout play, and prove presence of hydrocarbon in the Rogn Formation. The Upper Jurassic was encountered, but with no development of Rogn reservoir.
Exploration well 6407/10-4 is the first well drilled in PL700B. The well was drilled to a total depth of 3224m below mean sea level in 335m water depth.
The well was drilled with the semisubmersible drilling rig Island Innovator.
Lundin Norway is the operator of PL700B with a 40% working interest. The partners are Bayerngas Norge with 20%, GDF Suez E&P Norge with 20% and VNG Norge with 20%.
