Wintershall eyes Vikafjell North drilling

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Wintershall a drilling permit for wildcat well 35/8-6 S, in block 35/8 of production license 248.

Well 35/8-6 S will be drilled from the Borgland Dolphin drilling facility, a semisubmersible, in position 61°19’41.65” north and 3°20’17.11” east, targeting the Vikafjell North prospect.

Wintershall is the operator (60%) with partner Petoro (40%). This is the fourth exploration well to be drilled within the area covered by the permit.
