Det norske to drill Rovarkula

Published

Norway's Det norske, which is due to become Aker BP, is set to drill an exploration on the Rovarkula prospect in the Norwegian sector of the central North Sea.

The 25/10-15 S wildcat well will be drilled from the Maersk Interceptor jackup, in production license (PL) 626, in Block 25/10.

PL 626 was awarded on 3 February 2012 (APA 2011). This is the first exploration well to be drilled in the license, but the third well within the area in which the license is located.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.

Det norske oljeselskap is the operator of PL 626 with 50% interest. Partners include Tullow Oil Norge (3%), MOL Norge (10%), and Fortis Petroleum Norway (10%).
