Keppel Shipyard says it is on track to deliver the Catcher floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to BW Catcher following a naming ceremony of the vessel today (28 April).
BW Catcher - the 11th FPSO Keppel has delivered to BW Offshore - is set to go on a seven-year fixed term and 18 years of options contract with UK North Sea operator Premier Oil on the Catcher field.
BW Catcher has 650,000 bo oil storage capacity and 60,000 b/d processing capacity. It has a design life of 20 years without dry docking and will be moored using a submerged turret production at an average water depth of 90m.
Keppel Shipyard's work scope on the FPSO include the installation and integration of topside modules. BW Catcher is scheduled for sailaway from the shipyard in the next few months and is on track to achieve its first oil in 2017.
The Catcher area is expected to produce 96 MMboe, with a peak production rate of around 50,000 b/d. The development includes 22 subsea wells on the Catcher, Varadero, and Burgman fields, tied back to the leased FPSO BW Catcher.
