Global FPSO Forum announces first keynote speaker

The 6th annual Global FPSO Forum to be held on 30 August to 1 September 2016 in Galveston, TX, announces supermajor Shell’s Curtis J. Lohr, Stones project manager, as its first keynote speaker.

The Global FPSO Forum, which brings together international industry experts that have real-world floating production and storage offloading (FPSO) experience, will hold sessions consisting of thought leaders that will discuss the latest FPSO business developments.

Lohr is currently Shell International E&P’s project director for the ultra deepwater Stones FPSO development in the Gulf of Mexico. 

At Global FPSO, Lohr will discuss the Stones project, which once installed, will be the deepest floating production system in the world. 

Lohr has been with Shell for more than 30 years, beginning his career in deepwater pipeline research, mooring system design, and field development planning.  He has held leading project management roles on several key frontier deepwater projects including the Auger TLP, Bonga FPSO and Perdido Spar. 

Lohr holds a bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University and a masters degree in engineering management from the University of Houston.

The Global FPSO Forum will be held at the Galveston Island Convention Center, located in Galveston, Texas.
