Oil & natural gas company Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) has awarded AqualisBraemar a frame agreement to conduct rig inspection services for the operator.

The agreement is valid for three years with an option to extend the contract for additional periods of three times one year, said the Norway-based global company that provides, through its subsidiaries and associates, consultancy services to the energy, marine and insurance sectors.

Oslo-listed AqualisBraemar – a result of the recent unification between Aqualis Offshore and Braemar Technical Services – will provide rig inspection services, engineering and training services to Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP).

AqualisBraemar will manage the contract out of its office in Malaysia, with support from other offices in the Asia Pacific as and when required.

The work will be conducted by AqualisBraemar’s dedicated team of rig inspection specialists. The team has many years of experience of providing regulatory compliance and equipment operability assurance to operators and rig owners.

“We launched our rig inspection service early last year and it immediately became of interest to our Clients. To attract renowned companies such as BSP confirms that our offering matches operators’ requirements,” says Steven Lee, head of rig inspection services at AqualisBraemar.

AqualisBraemar provides a wide range of inspection services, from the development through to the execution of bespoke rig inspection and acceptance programs for drillships, semi-submersibles and jack-up rigs of all generation types.

In addition, the team covers land rigs and provides more focused and bespoke rig inspections to meet clients’ exact requirements, such as well control, dynamic positioning or integrated control management system inspections.

“Our job is to help BSP select the best rigs available. A solid rig inspection approach helps reduce risk, increase operational up-time and maximize the asset potential for the rig in question,” adds Steven Lee.

AqualisBraemar’s contract party is Aqualis Offshore Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
