The provider of oceanographic and subsea tools Okeanus Science & Technology and Continental Shelf Associates Inc (CSA) announced an exclusive rental and sales distribution agreement for CSA’s patented FlexSEA Modular Flotation System.

The FlexSEA flotation system was developed by CSA to address the growing demand for deep water flotation modules that can be easily configured into an infinite number of applications, including ROV Work Packages, Subsea Tooling & Intervention Systems, jumpers, umbilicals, sleds, and other subsea packages.

“This new and innovative technology will allow us to offer a safer and more versatile buoyancy solution to our customers,” said Benton LeBlanc, Managing Director of Okeanus, about the acquisition. “The ability to customize the buoyancy package to fit the application will allow our customers more flexibility when designing and deploying things like ROV intervention and tooling skids.”

“We saw a clear need for a more “flexible” solution for flotation modules, one that would allow subsea and tooling engineers to configure buoyancy quickly and cost effectively from off-the-shelf flotation modules,” stated Kevin Peterson, Chairman and CEO of CSA.

“FlexSEA modules can be configured into an infinite number of configurations, quickly and on site. If you or your children have ever played with Lego building blocks, you’ll quickly see the possibilities. Okeanus is the ideal outlet for the sale and rental of the FlexSEA modules through their Gulf Coast and West Coast offices,” Kevin added.

The patented technology was designed to provide a more versatile buoyancy solution to the offshore world. The FlexSEA modules can be arranged in a wide variety of configurations, and are rated to service packages up to 4,000m in depth. Modules of different sizes also offer the option to form arrays for a wide variety of subsea deployments and installations, tools, instrumentation packages, vehicles and submersibles including ROV mounted intervention packages.
