Total E&P UK has awarded Ocean Installer a contract for the recovery of casing at the Tomintoul location, west of the Shetland Islands.

The scope of the work involves the cutting and recovery of 472m of 20in. downhole casing from the seabed, at approximately 580m water depth. The onshore operations will be based at Ocean Installer’s Aberdeen office and the long-term chartered construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Clipper will be utilised for the offshore work scope.

"We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract by Total. Tomintoul is located in an area characterised by demanding environmental conditions in terms of wind, currents, waves and water depth, and we will work closely with Total to deliver in a safe and efficient manner," says Martin Sisley, UK Managing Director of Ocean Installer.

The Tomintoul field is located on the edge of the UK Continental Shelf, west of the Shetland Islands.
