Maersk Supply Service has launched a new Integrated Solutions business that will support the company’s ambition to become a leading integrator of marine services and solutions for the energy sector.

With vessel operations remaining the core business, Maersk Supply Service will in addition bundle services and manage sub-contractors to offer a more simplified and efficient operation to customers.

“As the industry is undergoing structural changes, our customers are seeking better value from their operations and their supply base. We have an opportunity to lighten the load of their procurement and operational activities by shifting the nature of our relationships, allowing our customers to focus 100% on their core business,” says CEO of Maersk Supply Service, Steen S. Karstensen.

Integrated Solutions Department

A newly established Integrated Solutions Department will build on and scale the capabilities needed to deliver integrated solutions business.

The department will be led by new Head of Integrated Solutions Olivier Trouvé, who brings with him 25 years of experience in the energy and subsea industries.

The department is already leveraging its expertise to support a lead contractor role in the decommissioning project for the Janice subsea field for Maersk Oil.

Maersk Supply Service is responsible for engineering, project planning and managing the full scope of the subsea decommissioning, utilizing up to ten of its own vessels.

“As Janice shows, Maersk Supply Service is well positioned to take on additional scopes for our customers. With close to 50 years in the offshore supply industry, we have a strong brand and safety record. Utilizing our large fleet of diverse assets, technical expertise and global network we can plan and execute a wide range of projects that cater to the needs of our customers,” says Karstensen.

An update on the development of the new business area and new service offerings will be available in early 2017.
