EFC Group names managing director

Houston-based EFC Group appointed Anand Puthran as its managing director, a newly created role for the company.

Puthran joins EFC Group with more than 15 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry in managerial positions.

“I am delighted to take on the responsibility as the new managing director of EFC Group,” said Puthran.  “It is an exciting challenge and I am confident the EFC team will comfortably deliver the group’s objectives. ”

In his new role, Puthran will focus on preparing EFC Group for further sustained growth, building upon the nearly US$24 million (£14million) manufacturing backlog. This will be delivered through the development of management systems and strengthening performance on project delivery experience and results, the company said.

Because of his industry experience, EFC Group CEO Bob Will says he is confident Puthran will be a real asset to the company.

“It is crucial that the correct team is in place to achieve our long term objectives,” Will said. “The evolution of EFC Group has set us on track to exceed our target of £30million (US$51 million) turnover by 2016, we need to continue to develop our business and service offering to ensure that this is achieved.”

Prior to ABB, Puthran spent seven years as the director of operations and central services for Aberdeen’s Online Electronics Ltd, where he led strategic projects to support continuing business growth.  He holds an MBA from the Aberdeen Business School and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

EFC Group, established in 1988, now employs 150 members of staff across its offices in Aberdeen, Leeds, Houston and Singapore.  In 2009, EFC underwent a management buy-in, which saw mechanical handling company Celeris integrated to join the subsea solutions and instrumentation & controls (drilling, marine & CCTV) divisions, to form the company known today as EFC Group.
