Bibby Singapore gets Myanmar contract

Bibby Offshore’s Asian division, Bibby Offshore Singapore (BOS), secured a contract with the Moattama Gas Transportation Co. (MGTC) to provide remote operated vehicle (ROV) pipeline inspection, remedial work and associated project management on its Southeast Asia asset offshore Myanmar.

Bibby Offshore will supply its DP2 ROV support vessel, Bibby Spring. The vessel is equipped with dual ROVs, including the latest 150HP, 3000m-rated SMD Quasar, and complemented by a Lynx lightweight ROV suitable for dive support, inspection and repair.

The 60-day project on the Yadana field in the Andaman Sea began on 16 February 2015, and will be carried out in water depths of up to 146m.  

“This contract validates our ability to successfully deliver subsea projects, and Bibby Offshore Singapore is delighted to be building on our working relationships in the Southeast Asia region,” says  Peter Hughes, BOS managing director.

MGTC is a joint venture between Total (operator), Unocal, PTT-EP and Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise.

Earlier this year, BOS secured a contract with Singapore-based subsea service provider Seascape to provide ROV services for its DP2 dive support vessel the Windermere,further highlighting the company’s continued success in Asia.
