Schlumberger signed a long-term software contract with Chevron Energy Technology Company. The new contract provides universal access to the Petrel E&P software platform across Chevron’s entire earth sciences organization.

"We have enjoyed more than a decade of innovation and collaboration with Chevron, partnering on several key initiatives from intellectual property development on Ocean software development framework to a field development consortium on the INTERSECT high-resolution reservoir simulator," said Uwem Ukpong, president, Schlumberger Information Solutions. "This agreement is core to advancing continuous improvement for capital efficiency."

In addition to the Petrel software, the contract includes a number of other software in the geological, geophysical and reservoir evaluation domains, including the Techlog wellbore software platform and the ProSource E&P data management and delivery system.
