Aberdeenshire-based Flowline Specialists plans to grow its business by 20% in the coming year after a multimillion-dollar investment in its fleet

In February, the firm announced that it was investing approximately US$4.2 million in purchasing a 300-tonne reel drive system and manufacturing a four-track 50-tonne tensioner to assist with larger projects and new opportunities.

The 300-tonne reel drive system, which can accommodate reels with a flange diameter of up to 9.8m, recently completed a project to collect and lay power cables for an offshore wind farm in UK waters.

Flowline Specialists manufactures the majority of its equipment at its Fyvie-based facility.
