Weatherford MPD rig integration

Weatherford provides a video illustration of managed pressure drilling (MPD) rig integration, and adjustment to the drilling industry’s technology to address operational obstacles of today’s deepwater projects.

Weatherford and Petrobras recently teamed up to use MPD for pre-salt drilling in Brazil as a result of discoveries of deepwater pre-salt reservoirs in the area. MPD had been successful in making drilling viable in plays where the margin between pore pressure and fracture gradient is very narrow.
