Wood Group has won a new, multi-year contract with ConocoPhillips in Australia for brownfield engineering services to the Bayu-Undan field, in the Timor Sea, south west of Timor-Leste, and the Darwin liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Wickham Point, Darwin.

Contract personnel will be based onshore in Perth, Western Australia and Dili, Timor-Leste. The contract also covers associated floating, storage and offloading facilities and subsea pipelines; a Wood Group Kenny team based in Perth, Western Australia will supply subsea engineering expertise.

Andrew Stewart, managing director for Wood Group PSN Australia & Asia Pacific said: "This win is a privileged addition to our existing brownfield modifications capabilities, particularly across our growing LNG activities in Australia and Asia Pacific.  To deliver this contract, we are delighted to be able to harness the collaborative expertise of Wood Group PSN in brownfield services and Wood Group Kenny in subsea engineering.

"Hiring and developing local personnel and supporting supply chain companies in the communities where we operate are priorities for Wood Group. Our commitment will be reflected in this contract, particularly in Timor-Leste where we will maximize employment opportunities for people in the region, having due regard to safety and good oil field practice."
