Utt takes over Teekay chairman position

Teekay Corp. and Teekay Offshore Partners are shaking things up on its board of directors.

Current Teekay Director, William P. Utt, will replace C. Sean Day as Teekay’s chairman effective 15 June. Day is stepping down on 15 June, however, will remain as a boardmember of both Teekay and Teekay Offshore.

Utt has been a Teekay boardmember since December 2015, and has over 30 years of engineering and energy industry experience. Until his retirement in 2014, he served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of KBR Inc., a global engineering, construction and services company. Before that, Utt served as the president and CEO of SUEZ Energy North America and president and CEO of Tractebel’s North American energy businesses.

Utt also currently serves as chairman on the board of directors at Cobalt International Energy, a position he has held since June 2016, and is a member of the board of directors for Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, a Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC portfolio company.
