Royal Boskalis Westminster subsidiary VBMS has signed a preferred supplier and early works agreement for the supply and installation of the export and inter-array cables for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm (OWF), UK.

The project will be executed in consortium with NKT Cables. The likely contract value for Boskalis is estimated to be approximately US$95 million (Euro 80 million) and the award is subject to financial close, expected to take place in Q2 2018.

The project scope includes two 50km-long export cables and 97, 66kV inter-array cables, which will be installed with two owned cable laying vessels. The project execution is scheduled for 2020.

Triton Knoll offshore wind farm is being developed by Innogy Renewables UK and Statkraft. It is 32km off the coast of Lincolnshire and 50km from the coast of north Norfolk. Triton Knoll OWF looks set to be one of the most cost effective wind energy projects in UK waters with 90 turbines providing sustainable renewable energy to over 800,000 homes in the UK.
