Claxton brings in new Sales VP

Claxton Engineering Services Ltd, appointed Gerry Miller as VP sales, marketing, and commercial in a drive to strengthen its sales, marketing and commercial team. His base will be at Claxton’s headquarters in Great Yarmouth, UK.

Ongoing international expansion has seen Claxton’s commercial team grow significantly, and it is now operating from Dubai, Norway and Singapore. Miller will head the newly expanded commercial department and undertake responsibility for all territories.

Miller has engineering operations and project management background, as well as an MBA from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. His 30 years’ plus experience in the on- and offshore segments of the oil and gas industry has been with major oil companies such as BP, Shell, and Statoil and major engineering service contractors such as KBR, Petrofac and AMEC. He has held various positions in design engineering, construction engineering, operations and operations management but spent the last 13 years focusing on the sales and marketing side of the oil and gas industry.

“Gerry’s appointment is just one aspect of an ongoing strategy aimed at ensuring Claxton is positioned to deliver the family-business quality of service and high level of applied innovation we’re known for,” said Laura Claxton, managing director, Claxton Engineering.  “Our sales and marketing team will benefit from his leadership and experience in the industry.”

Claxton is part of the Acteon group’s wider conductors, risers and flowlines offering and has a long-standing reputation for drilling riser supply and rigless well abandonment.
