Malaysia's national oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) projected to make a final investment decision on a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project for the Rotan field in Block H, offshore Sabah, in 2H 2013.

The Malaysian Business Times reports that once sanctioned, production from this second FLNG vessel is expected to commence in 2016.

In June, Petronas said the second FLNG vessel project will have the capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG, with the first LNG shipment expected by 2016.
