White Rose job for Wood Group Mustang

Wood Group Mustang Canada has been awarded the detailed engineering and design of an integrated topsides facility as part of the White Rose Extension Project (WREP), offshore Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada.

Subject to partner, company and regulatory approvals, the facility for WREP will consist of topsides supported by a concrete gravity structure (CGS). Wood Group PSN will provide support with the engineering, procurement and regulatory services.

Detailed engineering design of the topsides is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2015. Approximately 135 people will be employed on the combined work team. Wood Group Mustang Canada and Wood Group PSN delivered the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the topsides earlier this year.

Last month, Husky Energy said it expects gas injection to start before year-end at the South White Rose extension. South White Rose is tied back to the SeaRose FPSO, with first oil anticipated by end-2014.

The company also signed a benefits agreement with the government of Newfoundland and Labrador for the West White Rose development, aiming to boost oil production. First oil from the new fixed wellhead platform is planned for West Whtie Rose in the 2017 timeframe.
