EMGS ready to begin Malaysia work

Published

Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) won a contract for 3D EM data acquisition in Malaysia.

The survey will begin 24 October using the BOA Thalassa vessel.

From a letter of intent, received on 6 October 2014, the contract is worth US$6.8 million.

"We are pleased to announce the first of several new projects in Asia,” says Roar Bekker, EMGS CEO. “Due to increased demand for our EM services among new and existing customers we anticipate to keep one vessel operating in this region for most of or all of 2015."

The BOA Thalassa was recently in Singapore for inspection, to be ready for this contract from an unnamed international oil company.
