Norwegian association CEO to leave

The Norwegian Oil Industry Association's CEO Gro Brækken is to quite before summer 2015 over differences in opinion over how the organization is run.

Brækken, who has been CEO of the association since 2009, said he believes in the future of oil and gas industry in Norway. "Together with the Board , we have developed a proactive and clear strategy for the organization Norwegian Oil Industry Association the next few years," says Gro Brækken .

But, he said that the organization's board and he had different views on how the organization would be headed in the years ahead. "It is the natural consequence that we parted," said Brækken .

Association chairman Tor Arnesen paid tribute to Brækken's work, saying that he had modernized the association, strengthening the oil and gas industry's position in Norwegian society.

"We have formed a strategy that makes the industry is well equipped to meet the challenges we face up to," he said. 

The association board has started to seek a successor.
