Talisman UK CEO joins private equity firm

Private equity group Epi-V has taken on Talisman Sinopec Energy UK CEO Geoff Holmes to lead its FourPhase portfolio company CEO as it looks to grow its global portfolio.

it has also taken on Expro director Tony Kitchener, as Chairman. These senior appointments reflect the company’s rapid growth and strong global prospects.

Holmes has over 25 years of service and operator experience in the oil and gas industry in the UK and internationally, most recently as Talisman CEO, where he managed one of the UK’s largest upstream portfolios.

Holmes previously worked for KCA Deutag, where he was responsible for the performance of the business across 29 drilling rigs in the UK and Norway. He began his career with Chevron where he held roles in engineering, operations, drilling and projects. Holmes has served as a board member of Oil & Gas UK and is a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Tony Kitchener has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry working across sales, marketing and operations. He spent 22 years with international oil and gas service company Expro where as director he led the Sales and Marketing operation.

Prior to joining Expro, Kitchener spent 10 years with Baker Hughes where he made the transition from field specialist to management. He holds a range of executive positions in the upstream oil and gas sector, including the Chairmanship of FrontRow Energy Partners Investment Management.

FourPhase provides unique, patented solids control equipment in order to increase oil and gas production and recovery and significantly extend the life of existing wells. Based in Bergen, FourPhase provides services to a number of blue chip clients including major global operators such as Statoil and Saudi Aramco, and has operations in the North Sea as well as a strong presence in the Middle East.

Epi-V led on a £25 million transaction to acquire a majority stake in the company in April 2014.
