FMC to receive OTC award

Published

FMC Technologies will be recognized at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) next week with the presentation of a Spotlight on New Technology Award. The award, which honors innovative technologies that significantly impact offshore exploration and production, is in recognition of FMC Technologies' Annulus Monitoring System.

The Annulus Monitoring System provides independent condition monitoring within the subsea wellhead from the onset of drilling. The communication system delivers actionable information to the operator during critical phases of well installation and commissioning from multiple analog or digital sensors within annular locations. The system enables monitoring of fluid conditions between casing strings during all phases of drilling, completion, and production operations, by implementing an innovative communication technique capable of transmitting through thick steel barriers without wires or bulkhead connections.

"We are honored to be recognized by OTC with this prestigious award," said John Gremp, FMC Technologies' chairman, president and CEO. "The Spotlight on New Technology Awards highlight the important role that innovation and technology play in our industry. The technology recognized by this award is an example of how advancements are solving the complex challenges our industry faces."

The award will be presented during a ceremony at 4 p.m. CDT on 4 May 2015 in the rotunda area of the Reliant Center Lobby B in Houston, Texas.
