Atwood Oceanics appoints new CFO

Atwood Oceanics announced that Mark W. Smith has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer.  

Smith will report directly to Rob Saltiel, president and CEO, and will have responsibility for the company's global financial operations. The appointment has been approved by Atwood's board of directors and was effective 3 June 2015.

Smith was appointed as CFO on an interim basis on 27 May 2015.  Prior to this, he served as vice president, chief accounting officer and controller since May 2014 and in other finance and administrative roles since joining Atwood Oceanics in February 2009.  Including his service to Atwood Oceanics, Smith has over 20 years' experience in the financial, consulting and energy industries.

“[Smith’s] financial acumen, high energy level and continuous service with our company will serve him well in advancing Atwood's financial strategy and in communicating with our investor base,” said Saltiel.
