Eni extends Atwood rig contract

Atwood Oceanics reports that one of its subsidiaries reached an agreement for a six-month extension of its existing contract with Eni SpA. for the Atwood Beacon jackup rig. The Atwood Beacon commenced its initial two-year drilling services contract with Eni on 24 December 2013 for operations offshore Italy. The agreement revises the day rate to US$129,053 (€117,155) inclusive of equipment upgrade costs, from $148,817.62 (€135,100) beginning 1 March 2015, and extends the Atwood Beacon's firm commitment from 24 December 2015 through June 2016. 

Atwood Oceanics currently owns 12 mobile offshore drilling units and is constructing two ultra deepwater drillships. The company was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
