Statoil upgrading Vigdis jumper

Statoil has exercised an option with Ocean Installer for flexible jumper replacement at the Vigdis field. The option falls under an amendment to the previously awarded SLMP Marine Installation contract.

Vigdis is in block 34/7 in the Tampen area of the Norwegian North Sea and came on stream in 1997. Water depth is about 280m.

The SLMP amendment was signed in December 2015 and covered riser replacement operations at the Troll C field. The option now exercised comprises the replacement of a flexible jumper at the Vigdis field and the work scope includes project management, engineering and marine operations.

“In the current market this type of work is important to maintain a steady activity level and it proves that an unwavering focus on delivering in existing projects pays off,” says Ocean Installer CEO Steinar Riise.

Ocean Installer will use its construction support vessel, Normand Vision, as she is particularly well suited for this type of operations. Project preparations started in February and offshore work will take place in June.
