Total E&P Congo, through Petro Services, awarded Farstad Shipping an 18-month contract for the subsea/construction support vessel Far Sleipner to support their subsea development activity in Congo. The contract will begin during Q4 2016. Total has option to extend the contract by 6 x 2 months periods.
"Over the last 18 months, Far Sleipner has developed very good relations with Total through the work performed on the MOHO North field development project in Congo," said Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping. "This contract shows the attractiveness of our new series of subsea vessels that meet our client’s expectations for advanced subsea operations in deepwater production developments."
The Far Sleipner was built in 2015 at Vard Langsten. The vessel is designed for subsea construction/IMR operations to 3000m water depth. It has an overall length of 142.6m, beam of 25m and a deck area of 1800sq m. The vessel is equipped with two offshore cranes, of which the larger one has a lifting capacity of 350 tons. Furthermore the vessel is arranged for 3 pc ROV and accommodation for 130 persons.
