Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has granted Norske Shell consent to use the Island Constructor mobile drilling facility for the start-up of well 6407/9-G-5 on the Draugen field, off Norway.

Planned start-up is August/September 2017, says the PSA.

Draugen is an oil field in the Norwegian Sea in 250m water depth. The field has been developed using a fixed concrete facility with an integrated deck. Stabilized oil is stored in tanks in the base of the facility.

Island Constructor is a facility designed for well intervention, and is operated by Island Offshore Management.
