Mermaid inks Indonesia, Malaysia work

Thailand's Mermaid Maritime has won two contracts worth some US$5.1 million in Southeast Asia.

The company said the first contract, scheduled to begin in Q1 2017, is with an international upstream company for installation works in the Natuna Sea, Indonesia. It involves the deployment of the DP2 dive support vessel Mermaid Nusantara together with heavy-duty remotely operated vehicles.

The second package is to provide survey and inspection services to a third party diving vessel for approximately 45 days in Malaysian territorial waters. Work on this contract has already commenced.

Furthermore, Mermaid’s western hemisphere business unit has also been awarded a one-month work extension contract worth about $1.8 million by a major EPC contractor in the Middle East. This is for its DP2 dive support vessel Mermaid Endurer together with additional diving support services.
