Amec appoints Asset Life Cycle president

Wood Group has appointed Alan Johnstone as president of its Asset Life Cycle Solutions business in Europe.

Joining Wood Group from his position as Amec Foster Wheeler's managing director for upstream asset solutions, Alan brings almost three decades of North Sea, Southern North Sea and Caspian oil and gas experience. 

A long-standing member of Step Change in Safety's leadership team and former co-chair of the organisation's asset integrity steering group, Alan was chairman of the Offshore Contractors' Association until August, 2016; a position he held for three years.

Dave Stewart, CEO for Wood Group's Asset Life Cycle Solutions business in the Eastern region, said: "Alan's extensive expertise, robust knowledge and experience at the fore of many significant UKCS projects, positions him strongly to lead our European business.
