Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Ltd. has award a number of new contracts for the provision of all maintenance and construction labour, engineering support services and fabric maintenance, covering its offshore assets and the terminal at Flotta, Orkney.
New labour supply contracts, replacing the previous maintenance services model, have been awarded to Amec Foster Wheeler and Petrofac.
For engineering services support, covering all brownfield modifications and repair orders, awards have been made to a tiered group of contractors on a call-off basis. Successful bidders are:
Fabric maintenance contracts have been awarded to Stork and Bilfinger Salamis.
The contracts are part of new contracting strategies at Repsol. In each category, contracts have been awarded to at least two providers, in order "to drive performance improvement and innovation with the intent of rewarding excellence."
Repsol Sinopec Resources, previously known as Talisman Sinopec Energy UK, before the Talisman share of the joint venture was taken over by Repsol, moved to an asset-focused organizational structure in 2015. This saw insourcing of key technical authorities and rationalizing and investing in the long-term integrity of the asset portfolio, says Talisman.
Bill Dunnett, Managing Director of Repsol Sinopec Resources UK said: “Now is the right time to make a fundamental change to the way we manage our major service contracts. These awards will drive greater innovation and competition in the supply chain, and improve accountability within our own business. We’re also looking to the new contractors to help in the development, training and competency assurance of our teams.”
