Seatronics, LateraL enter subsea tooling partnership

Seatronics has formed a new partnership with Norwegian subsea tooling firm LateraL, which specializes in improving offshore performance through its product range.

The new agreement will provide Seatronics’ global customer base with access to the FlexiCal product line. FlexiCal is an ROV mounted caliper that allows for direct measurements from point-to-point with real-time readout. Accurate live measurements provide clients with the knowledge needed to make swift decisions regarding their assets, as the measurements are taken without the need for post-processing. The caliper is frequently used for measuring wear and corrosion on mooring chains, but also performs excellently on flanges, plates, structures and numerous other subsea assets.

"In this tight market, where there is a focus on asset integrity, Seatronics’ customers are demanding technology that will provide reliable, repeatable data, quickly. The FlexiCal is a proven system, which boasts an impressive track record. LateraL has several other innovative products, which we plan to bring to a wider market within this partnership," Phil Middleton, Seatronics group managing director said.

“LateraL has joined forces with Seatronics and looks forward to developing the relationship with access to other LateraL products. Furthermore, in addition to the FlexiCal product, an additional product, FlexiClean, (the tool of choice for pre-cleaning prior to FlexiCal use and high efficiency marine growth removal from any subsea asset) will also be available for rental from Seatronics’ global bases, with immediate availability,” Keith Robertson, LateraL technical manager said.
