Apache brings Callater online

Apache has brought its Callater North Sea subsea tieback on stream ahead of schedule.

Discovered in 2015, Callater, a six-well slot bundle tieback to the Beryl Alpha facility.

It was among three fields, including Seagull and Corona, discovered the same year in the Beryls area, which was bought by Apache off ExxonMobil in 2012 for US$1.4 billion. .

Apache said Callater is currently flowing back the 18x discovery well and a subsequent well at a combined, facilities-constrained rate of 19,000 boe/d, of which about 70% is oil and natural gas liquids.

Following Callater, the firm had planned to bring online the Corona discovery, mid-2018, at a rate of 5000-10,000 boe/d net to Apache. Corona was the firm's first injectite discovery.
