Saipem gears up for Jangkrik FPU installation

Italian contractor Saipem has inked a contract for use of Solstad Offshore's construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Installer as part of offshore installation works on the Jangkirk floating production unit (FPU) offshore Indonesia.

The Jangkrik FPU is a part of Jangkrik Complex Project, operated by Italy's Eni as contractor to SKK Migas, the Indonesian upstream oil and gas agency. Eni holds a 55% interest in the project. Other Jangkrik partners are ENGIE (33.3%) and Saka Energi Muara Bakau (11.7%).

An engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the project was awarded to a consortium led by Saipem, with partners Hyundai Heavy Industries, Tripatra Engineers & Constructors and Chiyoda International Indonesia.

In addition to the CSV Normand Installer, Solstad, based in Norway, will provide project management, procurement and logistics support to the project through its Marine Projects group in Singapore and Skudeneshavn, Norway.

Execution of the offshore work in Indonesia will start in Q2 2017 and, including transit, the duration for Normand Installer will be about 100 days.
