Shearwater received confirmation from TGS that the optional survey in Norway will be executed, confirming the extended backlog in Norway for the 2017 season to approximately 15,000sq km to be conducted by two of Shearwater's 3D vessels.

The increased scope equates to approximately four additional vessel months, with all surveys to be conducted utilizing Shearwater's FLEXISource acquisition technique. FLEXISource uses overlapping, multiple sources to provide high-quality 3D data with increased data density and efficiency.

TGS and Shearwater first signed the original deal in January

Shearwater also received the award of an additional 835sq km of broadband acquisition and processing from a national oil company in the Asian Pacific region, extending the current backlog by approximately one month and the total project survey volume above 5000sq km. The extension will be conducted with the Polar Marquis. The extension will follow a highly efficient survey campaign including undershoot operations with the Polar Duchess

Shearwater GeoServices is a new marine geophysical company jointly owned by GC Rieber Shipping and RASMUSSENGRUPPEN. The company has a fleet of four modern seismic vessels.
