Parker Bestobell Marine supplies FSRU valves

Parker Bestobell Marine has completed a contract to supply cryogenic globe and check valves made in Sheffield, for Hoegh LNG’s series of five floating storage regasification units (FSRUs) that are being built at Hyundai shipyard (HHI) in South Korea.

The valves were a combination of manual, pneumatic, actuated and check valves in sizes DN15-DN100 and were approved by DNV.

On 8 October 2015, Parker Bestobell Marine obtained full type approval for its range of globe and check cryogenic valves from DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas, and American Bureau of Shipping.

Bestobell previously supplied the Excelerate FSRU, which was famously in place in Brazil to supply gas during the World Cup in 2014.  The company also manufactured the same type of valves for the huge Q-Max size FSRU being built for Mitsui O.S.K Lines.
