Compressor defect shuts down Ula field

Published

Noreco has announced that due to a defect gas compressor, the Ula field  in the Norwegian North Sea, will not be able to receive and process production from satellite fields, the field's operator, BP, has informed. This means that the Oselvar field will also be shut down. Noreco holds 15% interest in Oselvar.

The defect gas compressor is scheduled to be replaced in mid-September 2013. BP is currently discussing with its vendors if the replacement can be accelerated, Noreco said. Current estimate for start-up of production at Oselvar is towards the end of September.

Noreco’s share of the Oselvar production was 650 boe/d in the 1H of this year. The field was shut in through all of July due to planned maintenance and Ula and Ekofisk.
