Lula Sul some 290km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, in concession BM-S-11, at 2150m water depth.

The Brazilian company, along with its partners in the BM-S-11 consortium began the flow of oil and natural gas at Lula Sul, in the Santos Basin pre-salt.

The P-66, a replica of the P-69 FPSO, has the capacity to process 150,000 b/d, compress 6 MMcm gas, and was initially interconnected to Lula field through producing well 7-LL-60D, says Petrobras. The unit sailed away to Lula Sul in February.

This system joins the 11 others already in operation in the Campos and Santos Basins pre-salt, according to the company, which include: Piloto de Lula (FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis), Piloto de Sapinhoá (FPSO Cidade de São Paulo), Piloto de Lula Nordeste (FPSO Cidade de Paraty), Iracema Sul (FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba), Sapinhoá Norte (FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela), Iracema Norte (FPSO Cidade de Itaguaí), Lula Alto (FPSO Cidade de Maricá), Lula Central (FPSO Cidade de Saquarema), Lapa (FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba), and FPSO Cidade de Anchieta and P-58, both in Parque das Baleias.

Further plans for the area include to start production at Lula Norte with the P-67 FPSO this year, and in 2018, start production at Lula Ext. Sol with the P-68 FPSO.

The concession BM-S-11 is operated by Petrobras, which holds 65% stake. Partners include BG E&P Brasil – a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell (25%) and Petrogal Brasil (10%).
