GMS Wins Jack-up Contract

Gulf Marine Services (GMS), a provider of self-propelled jackup barges, said it has been awarded a four-year contract for a K-Class small vessel, from an unnamed Middle East national oil company.

The world's leading provider of advanced self-propelled self-elevating support vessels (SESVs) said that through the contract, GMS will provide support for offshore activities, with the work being undertaken in UAE waters, where the vessel will be mobilized in January 2020.

"We are pleased to announce this long-term contract award and look forward to meeting our customers' needs over the coming years," said Executive Chair Tim Summers.

GMS has now secured 56% take-up of its fleet in 2020. Two weeks ago, GMS announces the award of a 6.5-month contract (firm period plus options to extend) for a K-Class (Small) vessel.

GMS's customer is an international EPC contractor, for which GMS will provide support for offshore activities on behalf of a Middle East national oil company.  The work will be undertaken in United Arab Emirates waters, where the vessel has already been mobilized for the project.
