European owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels Prosafe has won a contract to provide a ship to support offshore activities in the Central Mediterranean Sea.

Prosafe, acting as commercial managers for the Axis Offshore-owned accommodation vessel Safe Swift, will mobilise to conduct gangway connected accommodation duties for a period of 5 months commencing May 2019.

Safe Swift is a high-end monohull accommodation vessel with beds for 291 persons and is capable of operating worldwide in moderately harsh environments.

In December 2016, Prosafe acquired 25% of the shares in Dan Swift Singapore Pte. Ltd and formalised an agreement for the commercial and operational management of the Safe Swift.

Safe Swift was built in Frederikshavn Shipyard, Denmark and underwent a major upgrade at Blohm & Voss, Germany in 2009. The upgrades included installation of new accommodation, gangways and additional power generation and thrusters. The vessel is equipped with two Marine Aluminium electro hydraulic gangways providing flexibility of gangway connection.
