McDermott International has received a $230 million turnkey contract for Pemex’s PB-Litoral-A production platform, which will serve the Litoral Tabasco Tsimin-Xux fields, the Houston-based engineering and construction firm announced on 14 January 2013.

The scope of the contract includes FEED design, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out, sea fastening, transport, installation, hook-up, commissioning and start-up of an eight-legged 1,800-tonne jacket, 4,500-tonne topsides, and 2,000-tons of tripods, bridges, and piles. The facility’s total weight is approximately 8,300-tonnes. McDermott will also provide operational and maintenance training for Pemex personnel.

McDermott will also undertake a bridge and piping tie-in and brownfield work on the CA-Litoral-A HP compression platform.

Engineering activities begin early 2013 at McDermott’s Houston and Chennai offices. Fabrication will be handled at its Altamira, Mexico, facility. McDermott expects, at peak, more than 550 craft personnel to work on the project.

Full project completion is slated for 2Q 2015.
