OTC.13: Bosch Rexroth Marine opens Offshore Technology Center

A new marine and offshore applications development, support, and certified service center is now operational in Houston, TX. This is Bosch Rexroth’s next step in a nationwide strategy to align technology hubs in key geographic markets. The company will officially open the facility in summer 2013.

Bosch Rexroth offers hydraulics, electric drives and controls, pneumatics, gear technology, and linear motion and assembly technology.The new center will provide engineering services, product sales, training, and system support for hydraulics and controls technologies used in marine, offshore and industrial applications.

As a center of excellence for the marine and offshore industries, the facility is staffed and equipped with resources to develop custom drive and control solutions, offer technical and product support, and provide in-depth knowledge of industry-specific classification standards and regulatory issues.

The 28,000sq ft facility houses expert applications engineers, project engineers, technicians, and managers trained and certified to deliver high-quality Rexroth service and support. It currently has a staff of 12 with additional service and sales specialists planned in 2013 and 2014.

In addition, the new technology center provides state-of-the-art repair, warranty, and maintenance resources for hydraulic pumps and motors, for large hydraulic cylinders, and for hydraulic motors and systems from the company’s Hägglunds product range. Offshore-certified service technicians to support products and systems at customer locations.

Bosch Rexroth also works closely with its business partner in the Southwest region, Womack Machine Supply (www.womackmachine.com), to develop service and repair programs for hydraulics users, including market-driven lead times for quotation, repair and return of products to customers, along with emergency repair programs and field service.
